Greetings again… and Coming this Week…

Under the Weatherand          This Week Ahead

Well, I’m mostly over a nasty cold & flu that did me in for a couple weeks. And I wait in joyful hope that spring will actually take root in Milwaukee this week.

In the meantime, I wish to catch you up on some preaching I’ve done. And some study. So, this week ahead…

Tuesday, May 1st – Third Sunday of Easter: Luke 24:35-48 What does it mean for us to be sent forth as witnesses of “these things?” Jesus sent out his disciples who were startled, terrified, and fearful as witnesses .  Whaaaa?

Wednesday, May 2nd – Fourth Week of Easter: John 10:11-18 On the day little Theodore was baptized, we heard: Jesus is the good shepherd. He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone…

Thursday, May 3rd – Fifth Week of Easter: John 15:1-8a What does it mean that Jesus is the true vine? that his Father is the vine grower who removes every branch that does not bear fruit? What does bearing fruit look like?

Friday, May 4th – Fifth Week of Easter: John 15:1-8b  How can I pray with distractions that keep me from hearing, “I am the true vine and my Father is the vine grower; he removes every branch that does not bear fruit?” [2nd homily]
